Coconut Fatty Acid Distillate(CFAD)
Coconut Fatty Acids are a fatty acids obtained from coconut oil through the utilization of hydrolysis and distillation techniques. In the distillation process, CFAD 12-18 is obtained during the second stage subsequent to the hydrolysis stage. In the hydrolysis stage, RBD oil is combined with water under high temperature and pressure conditions, which initiates the process of splitting. This splitting process facilitates the creation of fatty acids and glycerol from triglycerides. The end result is a distillate of Long-Chain Fatty Acids, which comprises of C12 (Lauric Acid), C14 (Myristic Acid), C16 (Palmitic Acid), and C18 (Stearic Acid)..
